Prong Collar Question?

I have a female german shepard, she won't behave on walks and if I correct her with a choke chain or try to train her on flat collar there is just no hope. She will no get her attention fixated on anything else even despite the uncomfortableness of the choke collar being yanked. Do you think a prong collar would better help me with that? Im sorta cautcious because i dont want to use it wrng, and i heard they pop off if you yank on them too hard which wouldnt be good if your dog is trying to get another aggressive dog. Also. What size would I get her? Medium or Large?

Prong Collar Question?
Use an E collar? Sure, it works, but the dog could/can/will associate the use the collar with something in the surroundings, and not the actual pulling. It can turn a nice dog into either a nasty dog or a quivering wreck, not understanding the "Why" of the use of it. The Sporn harness no doubt works, but imvho there is no substitute for good down-to-earth obedience training. GSD's were my first breed, and they *never* pulled me. I would never have dreamed of putting an e-collar on them. The reason the check is not working, is because it's not being used correctly. You have, by the sounds of it, never taught your dog what the word "Heel" means. Get yourself some treats for the dog, and reward the dog when it is by your side. Teach the dog that by your side means reward...not by your side...no reward. Simple. Do some reward based training..find a reward based trainer. GSD's are super to train and loving, faithful dogs. They deserve to be trained properly, and loved, not abused.
Reply:I've owned Siberian Huskies, and they are known for ALWAYS pulling, and hard, no matter what. From a person who grew up in a dog showing family and personal experiance I recommend the SPORN harness. When the dog pulls it tightens under the armpit physically making it impossible to pull the walker around. I did this for a tiny lady who owned an unrulely Great Dane and she was amazed.
Reply:i agree with the shock collar - they work miracles! lol
Reply:um... I would go with a shock collar. They have a really bad reputation but if you use them right they are very helpfull and really don't hurt that dog that much. If you buy one make sure it has multible levels of intension and set it on 1. if the dog duzn't have any reaction what so ever. no tail wagging nothin then set it up another level do this until the dog has some kind of reaction. then leave it there when you walk the dog. Then first tale the dog no in a very strong but nice voice and if she doesn't obey shock her.
