Why do teenage girls dress horribly?

im fourteen and the girls my age i see are wearing abercrombie like it's the end of the world, they make coach look bad, coach is actually a very classy brand and they wear it really badly, I read vogue and i wear balenciaga and philip lim, If i wear abercrombie its to bed, why do girls wear the whole victorias secret sweats with flip flops and polos and sloppy hair? i really don't understand how you're not embarresed to death, i think its ghastly to wear polos with the collars popped up, i just want to know why they wear burberry wrong, and why they don't read vogue, they read seventeen and maybe teen vogue, honestly i think teenagers should discover zac posen, phillip lim, and derek lamb, i just don't get the whole flip flop thing or the denim skirt thing.

don't you agree they should stop being common and slide into a pair of chrisitian louboutins and armani prive?

Why do teenage girls dress horribly?
I make my own clothes; no way am I going to spend tons of money on some stupid label.

You sound like an awful snob; maybe you'll be more comfortable if you remove that poker that someone shoved up your @ss?
Reply:My question is why are you complaining and worried about it?

And if you wear Abercrombie to bed then your no different from them!

You sound like a Martha Stewart in a teenager body(not to be rude). You also seem very stuck up! Let them dress the way they want to,stop having heart attacks if somebody wear a pusre the wrong way(who in the hell can make a purse look "badly").

And i also think Vogue has terrible trends in there, those clothes are made for STiCK woman lol and who in the hell would wear something out of Vogue to school? And what teen can buy all that stuff?!
Reply:I can't help you. I wear hand me downs.
Reply:well, rlly u think they are dressed bad but ur the 1 that dressed bad!!! no one in the world knows who lamby is ans zac and filip, those pple are unknown.... abercrombie rox and same wit all the other stores other pple shop at.. ur just a lil diffrent and u critisize others.... u are just jealous cuz they are the popular cool girls and u arent
Reply:The teen years are years for exploration. I'm fourteen as well and i understan were u r comin from.I admire the ppl that allow themselves to go out dressed the way they do. It shows that they are confindent in themselves. Instead of critiscizing them we should admire thier confidence levels.
Reply:because not everyone has the money to buy expensive clothing!!!!!!!!!!!! maybe u should be more considerate about other people instead of being so shallow. u should be more interested on how they are inside, not what they wear!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:maybe cuz not everybody is a spoiled rich brat like u. and why do u care anyways?maybe abercrombie is the best they can get. maybe they cant afford balenciaga and phillip lim and stuff like that. i personally love flip flops demin skirts are ehh....

and if u have a problem w/ how we dress, thats ur own problem
Reply:They wear what everyone else is wearing, it's their choice just like what you wear is your choice. If they want to dress like everyone else it is still their choice to do so and no one but them can change their decision.

Coach is no longer a classy brand, absolutely EVERYONE has a coach bag because they want to think their classy, it is popular now and popular isn't very classy.
Reply:Um, I'm not poor, I'm like upper middle, but I read Vogue that is for women I'm 16, I'm not going to wear a 1600 skirt, that looks like I'm interviewing to become president of the world of something. I like Vogue don't get me wrong, but maybe it's you that think that teenage girls dress horrible. I think I'm cute and ready and laid back all at once.

Also I do wear stuff other then abercrombie, I have a ton of Max-Studio and Cach'e things, which are stores I love. So I do have taste thank you.
Reply:you sound like an all out a**. I'm sorry, but a lot of people cant afford names like that or they have different personalities than you do. I like zac posen and lamb, but I also like Hollister and more laid back. We're really not out to impress little "sophisticated and classy" chicks like you. Sorry. We should try harder.
Reply:How are you going to reccomend those clothing brands to teenage girls? I mean have some common sense, clothing stores have age limits and requirements in my fashion sense. They should be shopping at stores like Urban Outfitters, Sephora, Zara, but not chrisitian louboutin, Zac Posen I mean c'mon.

This is like telling me, a guy thats 16 to dress like they do in Askmen.com or GQ, I'm not going to school wearing a Brown Blazer, a White button up shirt, denim jeans, and slim toed brown loafers, because thats not age appropriate for me to wear that stuff casually.
Reply:Maybe because not everybody is a spoiled rich ***** like you.
Reply:Is this how you define your sense of self-worth?
Reply:http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index qid=20070720160346AA78xqH%26amp;r=w#P6JpAW7ZBT... u should meet sean stuk up *****
Reply:who cares, its just clothes.
Reply:Um, I would have to guess your parents have some money? I'm in my 20's and I've never heard of some of the brand names you mentioned. It's not a matter of "discovering" how to dress out of a Vogue catalouge. When I was growing up, my mom wouldn't have been able to afford to buy me Vogue...yes, the magazine. Express clothes are too expensive for me!

I know what you mean about the "sloppy" look, but it's just in right now. I don't understand how people can go around in their pajamas as clothes. I dress as stylish as I can w/in my price range.

If you want to send me a pair of louboutins or armani anything, I'll "slide" right into them.
Reply:K well here's a great point. Coach, Christian Louboutins, and Armani? well those cost $50 for an ugly skirt! its expensive, abercrombie has really cute clothing and most of it is cheaper than that! and we read stuff like that cuz we're teens! hence the TEEN vogue and sevenTEEN! vogue seem too adult like. and the way you're talkin you must be rich! cuz all that stuff is flippin expensive

P.S The whole flip flop and denim skirt thing?! they're just cute! in our point of view!
Reply:you are worried about what OTHER people are weraring while ppl in Africa are going to bed starving every night?? i cant believe you!!!! people like you make me sick to my stomach! and i can't believe ur parents let u get away w/ it! and maybe u think ur all that and w/e but UR NOT! u should put all the money u waste on ugly clothes and feed some starving kids areound the world. worry about things beside clothes on other people gosh darn it. oh and i am 13 and i think ur a spoiled brat!
Reply:STAY AWAY FROM THE ABERCROMBIE, PEOPEL THINK YOUR TRYING TO LOOK RICH.

Reply:why r u worried about how other ppl dress??? y dont u worry about how other ppl think of u. just becuz no one is as rich as u doesnt mean they dress horribly. i think u need an attitude check. lol. (and who can make a purse look bad. i mean u just wear it on ur arm.)
Reply:R u OK i think you are the one who inspire the devil wears prada

just kidding you have to respect every body Else's opinion and there's things more important in life then that!!!

trust me im a 27 year old girl who cares about fashion but i have 20000000 things to do and care about so you should try to think about something else, like its your room clean, have you help someone today?
Reply:I'm 12 and I think the magazines (Teen Vogue) have such ugly fashions. I mean seriously. It's not the 70s or the 80s but the fashions are crazy. And too much money.
Reply:My answer would be girls basic are (no offence) follows basic syles and trends...so no matter the good or bad u may think it looks girls will ware it just to try and fit in the style at that time.Personally if u ware it well fine...Styles change so hopeful a good worth while style will come about.
Reply:Some dress nicely, but many don't have the money for it honey
Reply:You know, in 5 years, no one is going to remember (not even yourself) what you wore today.
Reply:everyone has their own oppinion.
Reply:Teenage girls follow trends that they see everywhere. i personally don't understand the whole Abercrombie/Hollister/American Eagle thing either, but let them do what they want, they're only fourteen!

they read Teen Vogue because THEY ARE TEENS! and they read Seventeen because it is aimed directly at their age group. They are not doing anything wrong. Once they reach the age where they can appreciate Vogue and it's entities, they won't be prancing around in denim skirts with black leggings and flip flops with a ribbed henly and a Coach wristlet, they will be exploring the racks of Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdale's, trying on Nicole Miller, Zac Posen and any other designer that takes their fancy.

You should enjoy being fourteen while you can, because when you're older you will appreciate it.
Reply:Uhh dude it doesnt matter. Let them do what they want. Everyone has their own opinion so you don't have to question it. Seriously, we could say ahhh why do you wear phillip lim! It looks so bad. (I'm not saying that I'm just using it as an example) But fine, think what you want.
Reply:what the first person said who cares it's just clothes, and to me it seems like you are being to superficial and you are worrying too much about what other people wear instead of worrying about yourself, you are talking about all these really expensive brands and what not and you spelled embarrassed wrong in your paragraph and also since you are talking about all these expensive brands and what not you should know that not everyone has the money to buy these things, and NO i do NOT agree that they should "slide into a pair of christian louboutins and armani prive" but i do agree that they should stop being common and wearing hollister and abercombie but i guess that's the IN and popular thing right now, i don't really care much for shopping right now to me it's boring i rather be running around and playing outside having fun instead of asking a question about ''why do teenage girls dress so horribly'' and what not but i mean if that's what you think then that's fine becuase it is your opinion and this is a free country but i'm allowed to say what i want too, just try not to worry so much about what other girls wear and just be happy with yourself and what you have and also in your last question you spelled christian louboutin wrong you added an extra i after the s but don't worry i fixed for you
Reply:well it depends on were u liv and how much money u have if theses stores your talking about may be too exspensive nd may look lik clothes for old ladies i like abercrombe ae areopostale to i hav pink pants baically teenagers dont wana look lik they are in there late 20s -40s and the fact is these styles are wats in frankly i hav never heard of thosd designers i liv in KY and you probaly liv in LA or newyork also u may want to post sum clothes so i can see what they look lik
Reply:i have to agree with you i think some of these teen girls would look better if they would put the hair up in pony tail or even brush my niece is 16 she doesn't do acreombie or hollister she does forever21 and hotopic she has pretty decent style besides the messy hair which i cant stand well good luck with you answer you will get so smart mouth who will thumb me down on here but how who care i got 2 points but hope i answer it as well good luck.
