Why do Males/Females think its sexy to POp your collar?
It's a fad started by rich black rappers, so naturally preppy white boys had to follow suit. I can't imagine anything more retarded except for maybe the special olympics, and i'm willing to bet they'd wear popped collars if they could.

i took a couple of classes at FIT, and studied history of fashion and the 80's are making a giant comeback. everything thought to be outdated is being rehashed; polo is one of them.





folded collars look mundane and give off the stereotypical look of a countryclub golfer. a pop collared adds flare without being too overzealous. and no, popping collars wasn't started by rich rappers -- the idea came mostly from ralph lauren.





but, if popped collars piss you off that much, dont worry; people are also wearing peter pan collars now.

Reply:I'm not a fashion guru, but do you mean the collar is in the up position? If so, I'm dating myself a little bit, but it looks kind of 80ish to me. Definitely not sexy. So, to answer your question, maybe it makes them feel a little nostalgic and that is what makes them feel sexy.

The popped colar is preppy. Depending on what surburb your state has going on fashion wise. I'm in Chicago and I know for a fact that the preppy kids would pop their collar when they were about to go to a party to have a drink.


Men use to do it to hide the lipstick stain under the collar so their wives won't find out.





Men who wear low riders or crotch huggers or tight *** jeans are not sexy.

Reply:there's a song called poppin my collar and i think that they don't do it to be sexy but for the simple fact that when a person comes up they are able to get out of the fashion of simple white tees and they are able to buy button up shirts with collars which poppin their collars expresses the fact that they have came up and moved up in their income and in life.
